Cancer's a bitch
My best friend from Jr. High and High School:

John B. Koslick

Former resident John "Wolf" B. Koslick, 35, lost his battle with cancer Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.

He was born Jan. 27, 1970, in Fairbanks, the son of Robert and Darlene (Ossander) Koslick. He grew up and attended school in Fairbanks. He attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks and Linn Benton Community College in Albany, Ore. He moved to Oregon in 1995.

John married Rachelle Carpenter on Oct. 31, 1998, in Albany, Ore.

He worked in the entertainment business for 13 years and was a karaoke jockey with Karaoke Northwest. He had a wonderful singing voice and sang frequently at the AMF Lanes in Albany. He was a 1998 finalist in the Star Search Contest. John worked for Evanite Fiber Corp. in Corvallis.

John once bowled a 300 game during a city tournament in Corvallis at Highland Bowl. He was very talented in working on computers and he enjoyed the coast and being outdoors. John loved animals, but his greatest loves were his wife, daughter and family.

John is survived by his wife, Rachelle Koslick and daughter Tabitha Koslick, both of Tangent; father and stepmother, Bob and Sandy Koslick of Fairbanks and mother, Darlene Ossander of Albany; sisters and brothers-in-law, Denise and Bobby Monigold of Albany and Sarah and Steve Feathers of Warner Robins, Ga.; his dog, Daisy, and his cats, Anastasia, Fantazia and Weebo.

A celebration of life was held at the AMF Albany Lanes on Friday, Jan. 27.

A memorial service will be held at Fisher Funeral Home at 11 a.m. today. A reception will follow at Fairmount Grange, 835 North Albany Road, Albany.

Contributions may be made to the John Koslick Memorial Fund at any US Bank.

Arrangements were by Fisher Funeral Home, Albany, Ore.

It would be harder on me, but we weren't very close any more. Still, we had each visited each other in the last five years, and I talked with him weekly over the last month or so. Sigh.

Thanks for posting this. I remember John quite well, but after high school I lost touch with a lot of folks, and would occasionally look through my yearbooks and wonder...what ever happened to this person and that person. It's good to know he was happy with his life...but damn...35 is too young to die :-(

Hey Chris.. Hey Wendy.. its Erika..
Damn. I just can't believe it.
Do you guys remember when John and I dressed up like the "brews"brothers for Halloween? Or tried to be the blues brothers for the the talent show auditions? John was probably one of the best friends I ever had growing up. Nothing but the fondest of memories. I went to my first concert with him.. Night Ranger.. at the U.. lol.
Snuck into the Rocky Horror Picture Show more than once.
He im'd me a few weeks ago.. on yahoo.. I wrote him back.. then .. he never responded. I searched him today and found this entry you wrote Chris. I'm just.... heartbroken.....
His poor wife.. and that poor baby daughter... will she ever remember what an awesome person her daddy was?

God I can't even bring myself to take him off of my contact list on Yahoo.
He will be sorely missed.

*Raises glass to toast*... To John aka Wolfy!

Hope you guys are taking care of yourselves.
Drop me a line if you ever get bored.
